'I'm always looking for the Hows and the Whys and the Whats,' said Muskrat, 'That is why I speak as I do. You've heard of Muskrat's Much-in-Little, of course?'
'No,' said the child. 'What is it?'

Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler

Here's a little chill-out music from a couple of masters.

  1. Oh my gosh. I thought I was the only Chet Atkins fan left. You never hear about him here in the UK these days. I must still have half a dozen of his vinyls up in the loft. Must check. Great admirer of MK as well. Love his album The Ragpicker's Dreams.

  2. I got to know MK from 'Local Hero', and CA from Tommy Emmanuel.

  3. Being a big Dire Straits fan, and Knopfler's solo work, I got the LP he made with Chet, Neck to Neck, as soon as it came out - brilliant!
Not listened to it for ages though as our record player gathers dust while we've moved on to the immediacy of CDs and MPthings. Thanks for reminding me of them, I'll get that dust off and give the record a spin - our children will wonder what this strange machine is !!

  4. Brian - thanks for your input. I haven't heard of Neck to Neck. I wonder if it is out on CD...

I notice turntables are coming back a little. At least, they have started making them again....

The 'strange machine' comment reminded me of the great interest my son had when he saw the iron for the first time at the age of 3+. I remember clearly hearing him say "Wow! What IS that!?"

Shows you how much ironing I did in the first years of his life. ie. none.
