A bee can collect the equivalent of about two teaspoons of honey on an average day. Since I read this piece of information, I try not to take it for granted.

  1. Two teaspoons must be the equivalent of 4 to 6 times the volume of the average honey bee which seems to me to be a mighty impressive feat.

  4. GB. Yes, and much more concentrated than nectar, too.
The water concentration of nectar is around 80%, whereas honey is down to under 20%.

Jules. Honey is indeed such a special substance.
Re. 'The Mouse and His Child' - I agree, it's a wonderful tale that deserves to be much better known.
